Refreshing TOR Relays.

I forgot to add this upon making the tut, so I'll add this somewhat important step when running or using The Onion Router (TOR)/Vidalia Bundle.

Most of the times the relays found in Vidalia's network view aren't up to date, it is only stored in its data cache folder... So we need to refresh it from time to time, to see if the actual relays are really online.

So here's how we do it:

(TOR must be in the STOPPED/NOT RUNNING STATE FOR THIS TO TAKE EFFECT)

1. Click the Settings Icon on your Vidalia control panel.

2. Click the Advanced Tab

3. Take notice of the "Data Directory"

C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\tor

that's the line you should highlight and copy paste (That's what it looks like for Vista and 7 users, XP almost the same.)

5. Once highlighted open up a windows explorer window then paste the said address to the address bar. Or windows button + R and paste the location.

6. It'll open up the specified location and you will see TOR's cached files.

7. delete everything with the word *CACHED*, "lock" and "state'. However be careful about the "geoip" file found there! Do not delete that!!!!

8. Now the folder has only one file left the geoip file.

9. Exit all windows including the vidalia bundle/TOR.

10. Restart TOR/Vidalia and click/start TOR. It will be the same as the first time you've installed the bundle collecting certificates and active relay directories. And finally you'll be connected with new set of active relays.

Congrats you have refreshed your tor relay cache with the actual ones that are online.

It's ok to do this once in a while because tor network relays most of the time aren't 100% online some go down and some stay up for some time. Just refresh your relay lists once a week or once every 2 weeks.

For proxpn user only.May napulot na naman ako bagong tweak eto na....

There’s a fix for it. It’s a registry tweak that adjust the Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) of Windows that’s just right for 3G connection. In layman’s term, it modifies the maximum data it sends at a time.

Just download the registry file PPP & Tunnel MTU Registry attached to this blog and merge it with your registry. By the way, this only works for Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Vista.

Kailangan gawin nyo yung tweak habang connected kayo sa internet connected dapat kayo sa proxpn para magkaron ng effect

wala na akong nilagay na screenshot hirap tyempuhan pero sure yan tignan nyo na lang dashboard nyo habang nagdadownload ng large file full bar hsdpa ang signal ko nito

UPDATE:
Applicable lang settings ko sa tcp optimizer 3.6mbps usb modem hindi sa 7.5mbps
Sa nagsasabing bumagal sa kanila tignan po nila yung modem speed nila sa kapag kumukonek ksi nde applicable yung settings ko ng tcp optimizer sa mga may 7.5 mbps modem speed working yung tweak sa inyo yung reg file kaso hindi yung tcp optimizer settings ko
yung 7.5 modem speed kadalasan to sa ZTE modem ng smart bro kasi yung modem ko is huwawei e1552 3.6 mbps

Sa mga gagamit po ng tweak pakilagay na lang feedback modem speed OS ISP para makita ko yung mga pagkakaiba pa hit thanks na lang sa mga working sa kanila
salamas......

HOW TO USE TORPassPro lite?
1. download the TORPassPro lite.rar
2. extract lang po natin sya pagkatapos madownload.
3. open the TORPassPro lite folder.
4. run the TorPassPro lite.
5. double click the Firewall Buster.
6. wait nyo magkonek si TOR.exe at gpass.
7. pag konekted na si TOR.exe at gpass free net ka na.

try nyo po gamitin na browser ay chrome or opera para sa mas mabilis na page load.

Q: kuya bakit tagal magkonek ni TOR?
A: sa unang gamit natin ng TORPassPro lite eh medyo matagal talaga magkonek si TOR.exe,
kasi naghahanap pa sya ng mga relay or gumagawa pa sya ng route sa TOR servers.
pero pag sobrang tagal (15mins above) eh check nyo kung may signal modem nyo or kung recieve/DL rate.

Q: kuya pwede ba ito sa cp as modem?
A: pwede po tried and tested ko heehe

Q: paano po ang settings na gagawin ko sa browser ko at sa IDM ko?
A: wala ka ng dapat iset-up sa browser mo kasi nga may proxifier na syang kasama.
sa IDM set mo lang sa proxy lagay mo ito proxy 127.0.0.1 port 8000.
